North Carolina residents "Kristy" and "Michael" have been fired from their jobs after posting the video, which they say was simply a prank—no salami was actually farted upon. The video was uploaded to YouTube, where it promptly gained 750,000 views and forced Domino's to issue an official statement saying that it is "appalled by the actions of these individuals."
While the video was mildly humorous, the YouTube comments were not. They degenerated quickly into name-calling ("hillbillies") and claims that the woman in the video is a sex offender, complete with her alleged address and full name.
