More and more TV shows need scientists on staff

It's no fiction: Scientific fact has usurped science fiction as TV's favorite inspiration for prime-time story lines.

Programs like Dexter, House and Fringe only work if the science stands up to scrutiny. So it's becoming increasingly common for screenwriters to have engineers, surgeons, mathematicians, forensic scientists and top tech boffins on call or even on staff.
