YouTube embeds get search and widescreen
![]()
YouTube may have announced recently that it has switched to widescreen, but the website failed to roll-out this function to embedded videos – until now.
Now, every time you embed a YouTube video to your website, it will pop up in glorious 16:9, writes TechRadar.
Same goes for Hong Kong based video sharing website Megavideo, which has been offering widescreen video and embeds for a while now.
According to Wikipedia and "Alexa Internet, Megavideo is one of the 100 most visited websites in the world. The website officially claims to aim replacing YouTube as the leader in online video. Unlike YouTube, MegaVideo has a slow moderating action which allows for copyrighted material to be online for long periods" and in an unpopular move, now makes viewers pay to watch after a certain time limit.
