Ex-LG employee arrested for selling plasma secrets

LG_XHC751TF.jpg South Korean prosecutors said Thursday that they had arrested and indicted a former LG Electronics employee for illegally providing plasma display technology to a Chinese company. The Associated Press reports.

"LG Electronics, one of the world's largest sellers of plasma televisions and panels, said that the suspected industrial espionage could cost it 1.3 trillion won, or $1.4 billion, in lost sales.

State prosecutors allege that the employee, identified only by his surname, Jung, gave the technology to COC, a company based in the Chinese province of Sichuan."
