WGA: "We have a Deal" - Strike is over

Leaders of the Writers Guild of America endorsed the deal at meetings last night, reports The Telegraph.

"The guild's 12,000 members will be balloted today and tomorrow to ratify that decision, ending one of the longest and most damaging labour disputes in Hollywood's history.

At WGA meetings in New York and Los Angeles on Saturday night, the guild's board recommended the deal to standing ovations from cheering writers.

"We have a deal," Patric Verrone, president of the West Coast branch, told several thousand guild members at the LA Shrine Auditorium. "More importantly, you have a deal."
