Internet Movie Marketing honored at Key Art Awards

According to Fox News, the Internet campaign that created buzz for the quirky horror flick "Snakes on a Plane" months before it hit theaters is up for a special award given to honor those who market films and DVDs.

"The Key Art Awards, which have traditionally honored such time-tested marketing techniques as posters, TV commercials and newspaper ads, have expanded in recent years to recognize the increasing reliance on Internet advertising to reach potential moviegoers.

"People are spending more time on the Internet and often less time watching TV," said Bob Israel - producer of the 36th annual Key Art Awards, sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter, on June 15."
