Delhi Police launch one-click mobile phone link for women in distress
Women in distress can now reach the Delhi Police simply by pressing a button on their mobile phone, reports Daily Mail Online India.
A user will have to download a software available online. After the software is downloaded, it will be connected to a particular button on the mobile phone. The button will be connected directly to 100 and five to six other numbers chosen by the user.
In case of panic, a user will have to press the button and a message will be sent to the PCR and other contacts attached to the button," said a police officer explaining the software.
Once the message is sent from a particular number, the operators deployed in the control room will track the location of the caller and help will be sent to him or her, the officer added.
