USA Smartphone Penetration Surges Past 50% Threshold for the First Time

Smartphone penetration surged past the 50 percent threshold for the first time. Google Android led that segment of the market with 52.5 percent of smartphone subscribers, while Apple accounted for 34.3 percent. Samsung has retained its place as the USA's top handset manufacturer overall with 26 percent market share, according to comScore.
