Interest in text messaging and prepaid phones surges
According to data from the wireless trade association, CTIA, texting is surging in popularity. The number of texts sent per user rose 50 percent last year, and calls are getting shorter. The average call in 2008 lasted 2.27 minutes; in 2009 average call duration fell to 1.81 minutes.
