iPhone Apps Store Hits 3 Billion Downloads
This morning Apple announced that more than three billion applications have been downloaded from its Apps Store.
That's one billion apps downloaded since September 29, when Apple reported two billion apps had been downloaded.
Information Week points out:
None of the other apps stores for phones -- BlackBerry Apps World, Android Market, Mobile Marketplace for Windows, Palm Apps Catalog -- have been as transparent about the number of applications their users are downloading. Some details on the numbers would help put things into perspective here.
