SMS to check on stolen second-hand mobile phones

This sounds like a really useful service offered by the Singapore Police. As of today, buyers of second-hand phones are able to send a text message to check if they are stolen. Channel News Asia reports.

The system uses each mobile phone's unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number to identify mobile phones which have been reported stolen.
