Cell Phones Ring For Climate Change 'Wake-Up Call'
Climate change activists set their cell phone alarms to go off simultaneously in a noontime protest at a downtown parklet Monday. PittsburghChannel.com reports.
The group said it's intended as a "wake-up call" for world leaders who will be involved in the G-20 economic summit Thursday and Friday in downtown Pittsburgh.
Alarms went off near the corner of Seventh Street and Penn Avenue at exactly 12:18 p.m. to symbolize Dec. 18 -- the last day of the United Nations' conference in Copenhagen, where environmentalists hope a global climate treaty will be reached.
