Cell phones replace alarm clocks
The Telegraph reports that people now prefer to use their mobile phones to wake up in the mornings. This is certainly true for my family. We set our phone to wake up and no longer have a clock radio by our bed.
According to The Telegraph, research has shown that the timepieces are on their way to disappearing from our bedside cabinets for good, because we rely on our phones to do the job instead.
A poll of nearly 1,500 people showed 82 per cent of them owned a mobile phone, with over half of them using it as an alarm clock.
Robert Egan, a fellow of the British Horological Institute, has witnessed the slide in their popularity.
Much has been written about how young people are no longer wearing watches, and check the time on their cell phones.
