Verizon to Support Bans on Driving While Texting

Verizon Wireless plans to take an active role in supporting statewide efforts to ban texting while driving, the company’s general counsel said in an interview today. [via Bits Blog]

The position against texting-and-driving is in line with that of the CTIA, the mobile-phone industry trade group, but Verizon Wireless is taking a slightly more aggressive stand with its potential lobbying.
