AMBER Alert for iPhone now available, to go multi-platform
The Amber Alert app developed by iPhone forensics expert Jonathan Zdziasrki is now available as a free download. Developers are now offering to help port the app to other mobile platforms, like the Palm Pre and BlackBerry. [via ars technica]
The Amber Alert app provides a real-time feed of active AMBER alerts including victim and suspect photos and information, direct phone numbers to police precincts, and a reporting mechanism allowing you to report a sighting or get directly in touch with the hotline.
Two additional feeds are included in the application: a feed of recent missing child alerts for the US, and a state-by-state feed of all missing children on file. All three feeds provide the same level of reporting functionality.
