Anonymous Confessions Go Online With SecretTweet
Bits Blog writes up SecretTweet, a Web site that accepts and funnels anonymous submissions into a public Twitter stream.
Submissions range from off-the-cuff musings to scandalous revelations. For example, a recent entry read, “I shoplift in every single store I shop at,” while another simply said, “I frequently think of leaving it all to do escort work.” Other confessions are darker in tone, such as, “I secretly feel a twinge of joy when I see co-workers I don’t like go out for a smoke. I am glad they are shortening their lives.”
Since SecretTweet began accepting submissions in April 2008, the Web site has logged close to 24,000 nameless declarations.
