Promo codes for iPhone App developers

MarketingShift suggests Apple offer a promo code for Web Bloggers who review iPhone apps, so they don't have to pay to review them.

... Developers, App store shoppers and tech bloggers would all benefit from promo codes. Let's say you've just developed "the next great app" and it costs $5.99 to download. As the developer, you want to showcase the great product to reputable blogs and online magazines, but they're forced to fork out $5.99 to test it for a potential review.

Actually, I think such a thing must exist, because free promotion codes been offered to me by app developers, so I don't have to pay to purchase the app.

UPDATE: MarketingShift confirms promotional codes do exist for iPhone apps.
