Samsung to Launch Safety Phone Dangling an Alarm Ring

Samsung Electronics said it will launch a mobile phone (model name SPH-W7100) with increased safety features, including a ring-activated alarm.Telecoms Korea reports.

The SPH-W7100 is the first model to offer the SOS function with a ring, rather than a button, for ease of use, Samsung said. The SOS phone was designed with added safety features especially for women and children.

When users pull the ring in an emergency situation, the mobile phone sounds an alarm within a five-meter radius, and sends an SMS and location information to pre-programmed numbers that are dialed automatically.
