Super Bowl ads aren’t just about the TV anymore.
In addition to traditional online marketing techniques, advertisers are experimenting with new technologies in an attempt to get the biggest bang for their buck. And one of them is an iPhone app, according to the WSJ.
As part of its effort to promote dog adoption, Mars’s Pedigree has created an iPhone application called “Shake and Bark.”
Consumers can take a picture of their own dogs or download one of a dog looking for a home. The dog on the screen barks when consumers shake their phones.
In addition, every video view on Pedigree’s Website triggers a donation of a bowl of food to a dog shelter.
The app will be available January 30.
