Twitter UK traffic up 974 per cent in a year

Traffic to microblogging service Twitter has increased by 974 per cent in the last year, according to the latest figures from Hitwise.

The tenfold increase in visitor numbers has seen Twitter leap from being the 2,953rd most popular website in the UK last year to 291st most-visited as of the middle of January.
