India. SMS to power justice

According to The Times of India, the Punjab and Haryana courts have set up a system to disseminate case status information by SMS.

"The SMS facility is based on a two-tier system. In the first stage, the litigants will be able to know the filing status of their petitions as to whether their plea has been duly registered or any objection has been raised thereto. The second stage will result in litigants and lawyers ascertaining the current status of the petition," justice Gupta told The Times."
