Railway drivers, guards to be instructed through SMS

Another innovative application of text messaging: instructing New Dehli railway drivers and guards through SMS.

"All loco drivers and guards will be communicated through SMS about their duties as part of the Crew Management System," said a senior railway official.

The aim is to optimally utilise technology to increase efficiency and do away with the existing manual system. We have finalised the SMS modules and it will be applicable to all categories of drivers," said the official.
