Encrypted phones get smart

shoephone.jpg Security experts KoolSpan are releasing the The Trust Chip, a microSD card encryption chip that slips into any Windows Mobile or Symbian device.

As long as the person you're calling also has a TrustChip, you can protect your conversation from prying ears with 256-bit AES encryption.

As The Sydney Morning Herald points out, "considering the phone conversations you overhear on public transport, the big question is how many people actually need to encrypt their phone conversations."
