Student Organizes "SMS to Troops Campaign" for Thanksgiving

jjflag.jpeg Text messaging to say thanks to U.S. troops in Iraq -- one Chapman University student is the driving force behind this monumental Thanksgiving effort. abclocal.go.com reports.

"Thirty seconds to two minutes. It's very fast, said Chapman University freshman Shauna Fleming.

That's how fast you'll get a response back from a soldier serving in Iraq and Afghanistan after sending them a text message wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving. Shauna is the brainchild behind the A Million Thanks text messages campaign.

The major text messaging carriers will provide the service for free through Thanksgiving Day."
