Apple cuts iPhone price by 33 percent
According to News.com, the 8GB iPhone now costs $399, a $200 discount off the initial launch price for Apple's first mobile phone, released just 10 weeks ago.
The price cut was announced by Steve Jobs Wednesday at San Francisco's Moscone Center between the unveiling of the new iPod Touch and a performance by British singer KT Tunstall.
To read about consumer reactions - specially by those who bought the iPhone at the full retrail price, read Vindu's View from the Valley blog, which quotes Steve Job's position reported by different newspapers and links to Apple threads and rumors. [via Transnets]
