EU calls for satellite-to-mobile communications to go Europe-wide
The European Union wants companies providing satellite-to-mobile phone communications to be able to get one EU-wide license, cutting out the cost of applying for authorization from each of the bloc's 27 nations. [via the IHT]
"... Mobile satellite services can beam wireless Internet, television and emergency communications to mobile phones that can't connect to existing network masts."
