A rotary-dial iPhone?
Apple filed a patent yesterday that shows a simplified input pad with numbers on it, and it could conceivably be a simple follow-on to the iPhone. Gizmodo reports.
"It appears that the click wheel will have data on it as well, guiding your choices depending on the application.
In the examples in the image, you can dial by the screen approximating where you are touching, by the click wheel displaying numbers or letters or… you get the idea.
Not only is this evidence of a possible next generation of simplified Apple cellphones, it also indicates that Apple is probably not going to abandon the click wheel just yet."
