Japanese police arrest man with 5 mobile phones on plane
Radio Australia reports that the Japanese police have arrested a man after he ignored an aircraft captain's order to turn off his five mobile phones as the plane was taking off.
"The 34 year old man works as a DVD sales clerk and is suspected to be linked to a major crime syndicate.
Police allege he repeatedly used his phones despite the captain's orders.
It is the first arrest in Japan for using a mobile phone on an aircraft in flight. The offence is punishable by a fine of up to US$4100.
It is not known why the man was carrying five phones. "
