Orange harness wind power to charge phones

547642918_5dfbf85fbf_o.jpg Orange will demonstrate a wind-powered mobile phone charger next week, as part of its sponsorship of the Glastonbury festival, reports Mobile Today.

"The operator commissioned the prototype, which weighs just 150g and can be mounted on a tent. The unit is designed to generate and store power during the day to allow charging in the evening.

Orange worked with the University of Texas to develop a charger that would take advantage of the English climate 'to ensure a constant energy source."
