Phone users in China exceeds 850 million

By the end of April, the number of phone users in China has exceeded 850 million, according to Ministry of Information Industry. China Knowledge reports.

"There were 487 million mobile phone users and 371 million telephone users.

Since the beginning of 2006, the number of mobile phone users increased by 6 million, and the number of telephone users increased by 1 million. The volume of mobile phone SMS increased 38.1% year-on-year to 182.6 billion."
