M'sian shocked by $ 3'900 bill for contest
Mr Choh from Malaysia has been charged $3,900 for more than 3,000 SMSes sent to him by the organiser of a a World Cup contest last June during the one-month period. The Electric Newspaper from Singapore reports.
"He said he sent an SMS to subscribe and the organiser started sending him questions about the World Cup. Points were given for correct answers and participants with the highest scores were deemed the winners.
'Sometimes, I received SMSes with meaningless numbers from the organiser. I thought it was due to technical errors... It seemed I was charged for these SMSes.'
Mr Choh insisted he had only replied to questions sent by the organiser. Yet, his bill showed that organiser had sent him SMSes practically every second."
