Russian Mobile Users Shy Away From Talking & Texting, But Buy Content

Moco News reports that "despite a high level of mobile penetration, Russian users tend not to use their devices for more than voice and quotes Garrett Johnston, Marketing Director at MTS, who said "the Russian mobile operator is not seeing a huge amount of mobile usage."

Ironically, MTS reports content sales through its newly-launched entertainment portal reached $800,000 by end-January. This shows users are at least buying content – even if they’re not using their phones to communicate."
