At Some Airports, Cellphones Can Check In Passengers
Cellphones are being used to expedite check-in at some airports in Japan and Europe. You still have to wait in line to check your bags though. The NY Times reports.
"A few airlines are experimenting with systems that let passengers check in at the departure gate by identifying themselves with a cellphone. Two Japanese carriers — Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways — are using the method for skipping the traditional check-in, as is DBA, a unit of Germany’s Air Berlin."
