Gates touts messages through car radios

fordocarradio,gif Microsoft is coming out with software that lets consumers receive and hear text messages from cell phones through U.S. car radios, Chairman Bill Gates said, according to UPI.

"The Sync software, appearing in a dozen Ford Motor Co. vehicles this year, is similar to systems widely available in Japanese and German cars, The New York Times reported.

It also allows users to connect media players to a vehicle and make hands-free cell calls, Gates said Sunday night at the opening of the International Consumer Electronics Show show in Las Vegas.
