Interactive billboards to display citizen messages

The Montreal Mirror has a write-up on a new Jason Lewis' innovation, called City Speak. The project is a software developed to allow anybody in the street display their messages on dedicated large-scale video displays, using SMS on cell phones or wireless devices to send messages. A version of City Speak will be presented along with six other text-centric pieces in his upcoming show at Oboro, running Jan. 13–Feb 17.

Prior to this project, Lewis develops 'Mr. Softie', a software which enables the user to create digital graffiti. Instead of having a spray can full of paint, you have a virtual spray can full of text. The application allows you to stretch, change, transform and animate text.
