Internet-based SMS blocked for Iran's elections
In an effort to prevent the defamation of candidates of upcoming elections, the Iran Telecommunications Company’s SMS server blocked the sending of text messages through the Internet, because senders could not be identified, reports Iran News, however sending and receiving SMSs through mobile phones still works.
According to an official, "the content of SMSs sent via cellphones will not be controlled because subscribers can be easily identified."
