Flurry offers free e-mail for cell phones
It's common these days to see people check their e-mail from a BlackBerry, Sidekick or Treo - which are all expensive, reports Silicon.com reports, but San Francisco-based Flurry has a free e-mail service for the rest of us that works with a large number of basic phones from Cingular, Sprint and T-Mobile (but not Verizon).
The Flurry service allows you to access your personal or company e-mail from just about any Java-equipped phone, which includes many of the low-cost phones that are sometimes given away with cellular service. It also lets you subscribe to RSS feeds for news alerts."
