Kids Need Timeout on Cell Phone Use at School

Research to warm the hearts of all no-cell-phones-at-school proponents. They're not only disruptive, they make kids stupid.

A study by researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, published in the August issue of the Proceedings of the National Academies of Science showed that distractions such as cell phones and instant messaging make it harder to learn and that what is learned flexes the wrong parts of the brain.
