Germany has more mobile phones than inhabitants

There are more mobile phones in Germany than inhabitants, the telecom industry federation Bitkom has said, reports the AFP.

"As of August 1, there were a total of 82.8 million mobile phone accounts in Germany compared with a population of about 82 million, Bitkom calculated.

More and more people were taking advantage of favourable price trends to acquire a second mobile phone, the federation explained Monday."
