Cellphone Users Split on Buying Handsets From Wireless Providers
A little more than half of U.S. adults say they are just as likely to buy a cellphone from a wireless-service provider as they are from a handset manufacturer, according to a Harris Interactive poll, written up by the WSJ.
"In an online survey of 1,870 U.S. adults who use cell phones, 54% said they have no preference for an existing brand or a new one offered by their service provider. In contrast, 27% said they are much more likely or somewhat more likely to buy from a wireless-service provider, and 19% saying they are much or somewhat more likely to buy from a handset manufacturer."
