L'Amour collection revamped by Dutch designers
Bright reports on a very peculiar fashion show.
Nokia asked three Dutch designers, Victor de Bie, Jeroen van Tuyl and Jan Taminiau, to find inspiration from its L'Amour phone collection. The results were presented during the Amsterdam Fashion Week.
Victor de Bie turned the phone into a kind of relic as he believes that mobile telephony has almost gained a religious status nowadays. Jeroen van Tuyl made a black case for men to carry in style their mobile, and other gadget such as a digital camera, anywhere with them. Jan Taminiau had the most radical idea. He broke the back of two Nokia phones open and enclosed the parts into transparent plexi: it allows users to see the electronics and hints at the fragility of the device.
