A message to the future: Brain-texting

p2roductpic.jpg The SciFi Channel is currently hosting an "innovation and concepts competition", and among the concepts submitted, a telepathic earpiece that will translate your thoughts into text messages. It's called the Thought Messenger [via 21talks].

In their own words:

"Reading your surface thoughts, the telepathic device will translate them into text messages, sending them to any contact in your cell phone's address book that you can think of. You activate the earpiece by tapping the button on its side, or, if you really want to keep things hands-free, you can designate a "thought word" to activate it.

Of course, it'll route calls from your phone to your earpiece just like any Bluetooth headset, with the bonus of giving you an audible alert whenever your conversation partner's thoughts and speech don't match up."
