Advisory body proposes safeguards against obscene content on mobile phones

An Internet advisory body has proposed measures allowing parents to monitor what their children are viewing online through their mobile phones amid concerns they could be accessing obscene material. AFP reports.

"The National Internet Advisory Committee said Friday that telecom operators should provide parents with an option to screen what their increasingly tech-savvy children are viewing on the screens of their mobile phones.

Telecom companies should also provide parents with a list of the websites most frequently accessed by their children using their handphones, the NIAC said in its annual report."
