$ 20'00 phone bill after woman's phone was stolen from recycling bin

A cautionary tale from Pittsburgh's Post Gazette.

"A woman dropped her password-protected and locked cell phone in a recycling bin on January 8 and on on April 9, she received a bill from Cingular for more than $20,000. The phone was stolen from the bin and most of the calls were to Brazil. "

The moral of the story? Terminate yourcalling plan before recycling your cell phone - and do so only in a secured recycle container.
