Office staff put texting before work
According to The Telegraph, half of office workers spend more time e-mailing or texting friends than actually working in order to achieve a better "work-life" balance".
"But the trend, identified as "cyber socialising", causes thousands of workplace errors costing businesses £761 million each year in lost data.
... Dr David Lewis, a psychologist who conducted the research with Hewlett Packard, said "cyber socialising" during work hours was often used by workers to compensate for a reduction in face-to-face socialising caused by long working hours."
