India has more than 100 million mobile phone users

saricell.gif The mobile subscriber base in India crossed the 100-million mark in May, making it one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, although it still lagged far behind China, reports the AFP.

"India, with a population of 1.1 billion, had 100.6 mobile phone users as of May, ranking it fifth worldwide, the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency said Thursday.

China had a mobile phone subscriber base of about 400 million at the end of 2005."
