Where's Tim? Follow the cell phone trail
Google Earth Blog reports on a website called "Where's Tim?", which lets you track Tim Hibbard, a developer for a company called Engraph - which sells GPS tracking software. Tim uses a phone with GPS and as he moves around, he leaves a trail of where he's been - live in Google Earth or Google Maps.
Today Tim delivered a phone to a friend. He turned the phone on when he dropped it off at the shipping office and anyone was wable to watch as the phone was being delivered. A "Get History" link tracks in Google Maps where the phone has been today.
Definitely entertainment for geeks. But also a very clever marketing scheme from Engraph, whether intentional or not.
