Generation text

281-cell1.JPG An interesting article in the New York Daily News on "Why New York teens can't live without their phones".

... "Turns out the members of today's younger generation are multitaskers, using their phones as personal organizers, watches and cameras.

... Teens also confessed to using their cells to make calls from their rooms at night when they're supposed to be in bed.

... Similarly, where once teens passed notes behind teachers' backs, today they text each other, keeping the phones hidden under their desks — which also opens a whole new window of opportunity for cheating."

... Text messaging also raises parental concerns because it allows teens to escape their inhibitions. "Sometimes I'm really shy," Watson said, "and in some situations, I can't say what I really want to say." So she texts instead — especially to boys. "
