FDA Dismisses Study Linking Cell Phones to Cancer
According to Teleclick Canada, America’s federal health officials have dismissed a recent study in Sweden, which suggests a link between brain tumors and the frequent use of cell phones.
"The Swedish researchers claimed in two separate studies that frequent mobile phone use over a period of more than a decade could significantly increase the risk of malignant brain cancer, but the FDA claims that the research conducted was not up to proper scientific standards.
FDA officials called the results of the Swedish study “difficult to interpret,” noting that most scientists don’t consider retrospective questionnaires to be an accurate method of finding links between disease and behavior.
The FDA did promise to continue monitoring future studies on the long term health effects of cell phone radiation, and plans to hold a meeting to evaluate research on the issue and identify areas where more study could be required. "
