NY Police Say Cell Phone Puts Suspect Near Body
The death of a John Jay College of Criminal Justice forensics student, is drawing national media attention with the killer's cellphone part of the incriminating evidence.
"Members of the New York City Police Department said early on that a cellphone call placed Darryl Littlejohn near the undeveloped land where Imette St. Guillen's body was found – before police had located it. Now, media are reporting that triangulation of cellphone signals show Littlejohn's movements after St. Guillen was last seen.
24-year-old Imette St. Guillen was bound, raped, killed and dumped in a remote area.
Law enforcement investigators have tried to use cellphone triangulation to build other cases. When the devices were used to track suspects under surveillance, evidence has been tossed out. This case appears to be different, however, because the evidence was collected after a crime occurred."
